Speaker 2:Hello and welcome to the important podcast. I'm Jared Polifka. In this new podcast you will hear the stories of people who dare to improve our world. Well, not necessarily the celebrity names you hear every day. These are unsung heroes who tackle big problems and make an impact. Join me cause I learned about a community village that houses the homeless, the technology app that helps low income families. A woman who teaches Shakespeare to prison inmates and much more, he's interviewees have something in common beyond their determination to help humankind vulnerability. These are personal interviews where you will hear successes and failures. I think that we'll learn just as much from the setbacks as from the wins after all, life isn't a highlight. Real life is messy. Innovation is messy, art is messy, love is messy and the mess is beautiful. You might be wondering what's behind the podcast name. After listening to the first few interviews, my creative assistant Jake said, these interviews are interesting in what these people do is important. They should call this the important podcast. It's direct and playful. I agree Jake. I wouldn't call it anything else. So thanks for naming it, Jake. Thanks for stealing my creative funder. So how do I define important in the context of people who are making the world better? And I think of important as people doing creative work that helps others because people think differently, they're unique, they're brave, and I admire what they do. However, this definition is still a work in progress and will continue to evolve in upcoming episodes. We're going to explore and investigate what important means together. Along the way, you listeners are invited to chime in with your thoughts, ideas, recommendations, and discoveries. So let's get started to hear new episodes as they're released. Please subscribe after listening to an episode or two, take a few minutes and write a review on iTunes or Spotify. Thank you for your time. Enjoy the important podcasts.
